  1. 2016

    SoFi Stadium Groundbreaking


    Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke was joined by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Inglewood Mayor James Butts, Rams Defensive Tackle Aaron Donald, Rams Punter Johnny Hekker, and Pro Football Hall of Famers Eric Dickerson and Jack Youngblood for SoFi Stadium’s groundbreaking ceremony. This ceremony celebrated the start of the excavation of the site, including the stadium bowl.

  2. 2020

    Stadium Completion


    On September 8, 2020, SoFi Stadium, the new home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the start of its inaugural year. The ceremony included Rams Owner/Chairman and SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park developer E. Stanley Kroenke, Chargers Owner Dean Spanos and the City of Inglewood’s Mayor James T. Butts. NFL Network’s Steve Wyche served as master of ceremonies.

    First Football Game at SoFi Stadium


    SoFi Stadium’s first event was the Rams versus the Cowboys on September 13, followed by the Chargers versus the Chiefs on September 20.

  3. 2021

    First Public Event at SoFi Stadium


    SoFi Stadium opened to the public in May 2021 with VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World. As the first large-scale music event for a COVID-compliant audience composed of fully-vaccinated frontline healthcare and essential workers, VAX LIVE called for new commitments from governments, the private sector, and philanthropists toward the equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines worldwide.

    YouTube Theater Opening


    YouTube Theater opened its door in September 2021. The 6,000-seat venue hosts a variety of live entertainment from concerts to comedy, award shows, esports competitions, community events, conferences, and distinctive YouTube creator events.

  4. 2022

    Super Bowl LVI


    The Los Angeles Rams defeated the AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 to win Super Bowl LVI, becoming the second NFL team to win a Super Bowl in their home stadium and winning the franchise’s second Super Bowl championship.

    First Soccer Event


    In August 2022, SoFi Stadium hosted its first-ever soccer event. Leagues Cup Showcase featured four of the continent’s most popular clubs in a double header – Los Angeles Football Club, LA Galaxy, Club Deportivo Guadalajara and Club América.

  5. 2023

    College Football Playoff National Championship


    In January 2023, SoFi Stadium hosted the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship. The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the TCU Horned Frogs 65-7, to capture the program’s second straight CFP National Championship.

    WrestleMania 39


    WrestleMania 39 became the most-successful and highest-grossing event in WWE history. The two-night, sold-out event at SoFi Stadium set new records for viewership, gate, sponsorship, merchandise, and social media. It generated a gate of more than $21.6 million and an attendance of 161,892 over the two nights.

  6. 2024

    Monster Jam World Finals XXII


    In May 2024, Monster Jam World Finals XXIII will bring in fans from all over the globe to see some of the best trucks and world-class drivers compete for a total of four championships in Racing, Freestyle, High Jump and 2-Wheel Skills competitions, highlighted by an unforgettable Monster Jam World Finals exclusive gravity-defying stunt that fans will be talking about for years.

  7. 2026

    FIFA World Cup 26


    FIFA revealed that Los Angeles will officially host eight matches for FIFA World Cup 26™, including the highly coveted U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) opening match on June 12 at Los Angeles Stadium (SoFi Stadium). The Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee has always been committed to hosting signature matches for FIFA World Cup 26™ and the USMNT opener will prove to be another transformative moment for soccer in the USA as the eyes of the world fall on Los Angeles.

  8. 2027

    Super Bowl LXI


    The NFL announced that Super Bowl LXI will be hosted in Los Angeles in 2027, with the game played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

  9. 2028

    LA 28 Summer Olympics


    SoFi Stadium will host the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics in 2028.

​​Hollywood Park, a near 300-acre sports and entertainment destination, is being developed by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke with the 70,000-seat SoFi Stadium as its centerpiece. Hollywood Park is the largest urban mixed-use mega development under construction in the Western United States. When complete, Hollywood Park will have up to 2,500 residences, a hotel, a retail district reaching up to 890,000 square feet, up to 5 million square feet of office space, and more than 25-acres of public parks and open space.

Home to the Los Angeles Chargers and Super Bowl LVI Champion Los Angeles Rams, SoFi Stadium is the host of world-renowned sporting events, including Super Bowl LVI in 2022, College Football Playoff National Championship game 2023, WrestleMania 2023, World Cup 2026, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics in 2028. Adjacent to the stadium and under the same roof canopy is a 2.5-acre open-air plaza, American Airlines Plaza, and the 6,000-seat YouTube Theater. YouTube Theater is an intimate venue, making it the perfect place for concerts, comedy, awards shows, esports competitions, community gatherings, conferences and more.
